Córdoba had a better feel to it than malaga. The streets weren’t tiled, but old cobblestone. you had occasional cars trying to squeeze through. it felt a bit more gritty and alive.

Mosque-Cathedral

The main attraction in Cordoba is the massive Mosque-Cathedral.

It was built by the muslim caliphate when they controlled the area. After the Spanish regained control, they converted it into a christian cathedral. It retains the feel of both.

It’s interesting to see these two styles combined with each other. it was like a cathedral was simply dropped right in the middle of a mosque.

Bell Tower

You can climb the mosque bell tower to get a view of the city.

Calleja de las Flores

The alley of flowers is right behind the mosque, and gives the above 🤌 perspective on the tower.

I found this cutecat there.

Alcazár and Jardines

downriver from the mosque is an old fort and garden site. The gardens were nice.

Roman Bridge

Finally leading across the river from the mosque is the old roman bridge. this thing is massive, and there are tons of performers all along it playing music.

Waterwheel

In the image above, just out of site to the left, was an ancient waterwheel

We we’re only in Cordoba for 2 nights, and needed to catch another train early in the morning to Granada.
